Gemini CLI is Google's official open-source AI agent providing access to Gemini directly in the terminal. Uses a reason and act (ReAct) loop with built-in tools and local/remote MCP servers for solving complex tasks: fixing bugs, creating new features, improving test coverage. Excels at coding but is also versatile for content generation, problem-solving, deep research, and task management. Free tier includes 60 requests/minute, 1000 requests/day, with 1M token context window. Works across multiple platforms and integrates seamlessly with existing development workflows
